The Nine Elements of Digital Citizenship*
1. Digital Access: full electronic participation in society 2. Digital Commerce: electronic buying and selling of goods 3. Digital Communication: electronic exchange of information (including email, social networking, texting, etc.) 4. Digital Literacy: knowledge about and ability to use technology effectively (evaluating websites for credibility and reliability, Web 2.0 toolsknowledge and ability, using databases when appropriate, keyword development, smart online searching, etc.) 5. Digital Etiquette: standards of conduct or procedure online 6. Digital Law: electronic responsibility for actions and deeds (copyright, file sharing, plagiarism, etc.) 7. Digital Rights & Responsibilities: freedoms and rights that should be extended to everyone in the online world 8. Digital Health & Wellness: physical and psychological well-being in a digital world 9.
